Gingerbread House & Snuggie's

Before Christmas we made a Gingerbread House - from scratch. We have been wanting to make one for years, but finally got around to actually doing it. It was pretty fun, we learned a lot about how to do it better another time. We ended up making way too much dough - two batches! I was scared we would run out - I was way wrong, there was plenty! So now we have a large ball of Gingerbread dough in the freezer - any takers??

Next time we won't get as much candy, we over did that - I think we spent over $50 bucks getting everything to make the house. We still have candy lying around and the candy stuck so well to the house most of it is still there. The next time we make one we will have to be sure there will be kids around who will put in the effort to actually pry the candy off.

The finished product. (yeah, the rolo's were the first to go)

I am sure you have seen the commercial for the snuggie, the blanket with sleeves. Well we liked the idea, but I looked up how much they would cost - around $40 bucks for two. We came up with making them ourselves. We purchased four of those fleece blankets from Wal-Mart that are like 4 bucks each. I sewed some sleeves, it was very easy and quick. I even have some left over fleece, I think the dogs are going to get a little snuggie too; Smuckers sure was interested.
