Why?

Why is Tina Fey playing Palin on SNL big news?? it's on every news site, and I have been bombarded with it in my bloglines - it seems everyone I read thinks it's so great they need to link it too.
I'm sorry, is this the first time a political figure has been portrayed on SNL? No! Hello this is NOT BIG NEWS nor is it remotely new and interesting.
SNL is so past it's prime, they use the same dated jokes and skits over and over again. Like it's hard to come up with Tina Fey to play Palin?? and frankly it has already been done - they were not the first (the Gina Gershon bit) and I am sure they won't be the last.

Also on another political note; on Sept. 11th the campaigns of Obama and McCain suspended political attacks out of respect for those who lost their lives. This type of "respect" really bothers me. If McCain or Obama really wanted to do something real that showed respect, how about suspending the smear attacks for the rest of the campaign instead of one day. How about just releasing commercials and giving speeches that just stated their specific case instead of smearing the other guy. I would much rather hear what a person stands for than who they stand against. I really hate this part of the election process, I would rather it to be all over now - but we still have 2 months of mud slinging.... I mean campaigning.

OK, sorry for all that I don't write for a while and then it's about politics - YUCK! But I feel better now getting it off my chest.
